This is my 8th year at Flagstone Elementary. I moved to Colorado from North Carolina in July 2017. I have my Master's in Art Education with a Bachelor of Fine Arts concentration in Sculpture. I graduated from East Carolina University in North Carolina for my BFA and MaEd program. I enjoy a variety of art media such as painting in Acrylic, collages, and three-dimensional work. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and exercising at the gym.
This year in art, students will use a variety of media and learn to think like artists. I want to wish everyone an exciting and successful school year!
This is my 12th year as a Physical Education Teacher and 7th year in Douglas County School District. I grew up in Keenesburg, Colorado, and attended Fort Lewis College, where I received my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science while playing women’s basketball. I then moved to Missouri and coached women's basketball at Northwest Missouri State University while earning my Master’s in Education. Since then, I have also received my Specialist in Education from Northwest Missouri State University. I look forward to building a foundation of healthy habits with our students this year!
Originally, I'm from New York, where I got my Bachelor's degree in Music Education and Saxophone Performance from SUNY Potsdam, and where I taught for the first two years of my career in several different elementary schools. Other than being the General Music teacher, I also offer other programs outside school hours such as Choir, Band, and Orchestra!
