To ensure our newest Mustangs have the smoothest start possible, the beginning of their school year differs from students in grades 1 - 6. Kindergarteners begin with two half-days, providing an opportunity for all three kindergarten teachers to observe each child's academic and social skills. During these half-days, students rotate between classrooms in small groups, engaging in learning stations while teachers and staff interact and assess their skills. Additionally, students will have short recess periods to help staff gauge their development in unstructured play. After these two half-days, teachers will meet on a non-student day to create balanced classes using the data collected.
Kindergarten students will attend on August 13th and August 14th, for half-day sessions on both days. Students with last names starting A-L will attend in the morning session from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, while those with last names starting M-Z will attend in the afternoon session from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Please note that lunch will not be provided for the half-day sessions, so we kindly ask you to pack a snack and water bottle for your child each day. Kindergarten classes will not be in session on August 15th. On this day, teachers will convene to organize balanced classes and prepare for the upcoming school year. The first full day of school for your Kindergartener will be on August 18th, 2025.
