FSE Back to School Update Aug 4th, 2020
Posted on 08/04/2020

Dear FSE Families,

Thank you ALL for your patience as we are working to prepare for the return of your children.  Our teachers' first day back was today, it was SO nice to have them back in the building, the buzz was so positive and SO missed.  I know you are all anxious to hear about what cohort your child or children will be in, that is what we are currently working on now that express check-in has closed, and families have made their in-person or eLearning selection.  If you missed express check-in we are assuming you are opting for in-person learning and are planning a spot for your child.  Our first priority is to ensure that households (elementary, middle, and high) be placed on the same in person-days.  Once that is completed I will start looking at the individual requests families have made.  Due to the volume of emails I have received please don't panic if I have not responded yet, I will, and your request will be taken into consideration.  I will do my very best to accommodate what we can because I know you are all working hard to get your work schedules to align with school schedules.  We are hoping to communicate your child's cohort very soon.  Once your child's cohort and teacher has been shared, we will begin communication around the following:

  • Details regarding orientation the week of Aug 17th
  • Information on new school procedures to keep staff and students safe
  • A class schedule for your child for our hybrid model AND a 100% eLearning model should we have to go that route
  • Staff, student, and family expectations on eLearning days
  • Technology agreements--each child will be assigned a Chromebook (2-6) or an iPad (K-1) that will be carried back and forth to school each day.
  • Details on the time your child's teacher will be conducting a virtual back to school night.

Thank you again for your patience as we re-create how we do school, I could not ask for a better staff and community to navigate this new normal for us.  We've got this!  I will see you virtually soon!
