I was born and raised in Sheridan, Wyoming. My family still lives there and I love to visit them as much as possible. I have one sister and two nieces and four nephews. My parents live in the country there and raise alpacas! My mom makes all kinds of things with their fiber. I'm sure you will see me sporting several of these items!
After graduating from Sheridan's community college, I married my husband, Steve, and we moved to Las Vegas Nevada. We spent five years there and I graduated from UNLV-Las Vegas with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education while my husband graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Upon graduating, we moved to Denver and haven't regretted our choice since. I later attended CU-Denver and received my Master's Degree in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies.
My husband and I have two daughters who keep us very busy. Adeline (Addie), will be in fourth grade at FSE this fall, and Josephine (Josie) will be turning three in August! I'm sure that you will hear lots of stories about them! Addie loves gymnastics, and dancing at the Colorado School of Dance. She will be performing in the Nutcracker again over Thankgiving break at the Pace Center. Josie has become a very active little girl who we are chasing around everywhere! She will begin dance in the fall, too! She is super smiley and loves food! For pets, we have lots of fish!
In my spare time, you will probably find me hiking Colorado's many 14ers. Currently, I have hiked 27. I plan on hiking all of them! My favorite 14er that we've hiked so far has been Longs Peak. I also enjoy making cakes and traveling.
This will be my 15th year teaching in Douglas County! I began my career as an educational assistant and have taught multiple grades including 1st, 2nd, 5th, and, 6th. I have loved the different aspects of each grade!

Welcome to 5th Grade ELA! This year is going to be full of exciting learning, new adventures, and lots of fun. I can't wait to get to know each of you and spend this school year learning and growing together!
A little bit about me: I grew up in Colorado and graduated from Highlands Ranch High School, so I am very familiar with the district. I then attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with Reading and ESOL endorsements. After graduating from college, I moved back home and was lucky enough to have the amazing opportunity to teach 5th grade here at Flagstone. I am so excited to be your teacher this year!
I have two cats named Seagull and Rook, but that's not all! I also have two fish tanks full of unique fish, a dog, two other cats, a bird, a lizard, and a turtle! My house is basically a zoo, so I'm sure you'll hear lots of stories about all of my pets throughout the year! In my free time, I love going camping, trying out new recipes, or just relaxing at home. I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I also love cozy days at home with my pets!
